Test Resultstest_results6

When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Please bear this in mind and telephone the surgery once sufficient time has elapsed.  For test results please telephone between 10am and 2pm.

Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results therefore it is your responsibility to check them and make any necessary follow-up appointment with the doctor.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior written permission for their release. Legally, patients from the age of 12 years who are judged to be able to make decisions on their own, must give their consent to the Practice if any medical information is to be given out to their parent or guardian.  Patients who fall into this category and require tests after seeing a clinician, will be asked for their consent to share any medical information with their parents or guardian and this will be recorded on each occasion in the medical records.

Specimens

Specimens that need to be sent to the laboratory should be handed in to reception before 2pm.  It is vital that the correct containers are used and these can be obtained from reception. Please ensure that your name and date of birth are written on all containers and a samples form is completed for each specimen.
